Ingredients:

6-7 large russet potatoes, peeled and diced

10 slices bacon, plus more for top

8 oz cream cheese

1 stick unsalted butter, melted

8 oz sour cream

3-4 cloves garlic

3-4 green onion, sliced

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, plus more for top

salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
~Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place peeled and diced potatoes in a large saucepan, and add enough cold water to cover by about 2 inches. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, and reduce to a simmer. Cook until tender and easily pierced with a paring knife, about 20 minutes. Transfer to a colander to drain; return to pan, cover, and set aside.

~Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add bacon, and cook until crisp. Transfer to paper towels to drain; let cool, and crumble into pieces.

~In a small sauce pan melt the butter over low heat. Add the garlic cloves, peeled and crush and allow to steep in the butter for 5 minutes. Remove the garlic and set aside.

~In the bowl of a stand mixer or using a hand held mixer, combine potatoes and blend until fluffy and smooth. Add the cream cheese, garlic butter and sour cream and blend until combined and smooth. Add cheddar cheese, half of the sliced green onion, half the bacon, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

~Transfer to a buttered 3-quart baking dish. Top with 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Bake until top is slightly golden and potatoes are heated through, about 30 minutes. Remove from oven; garnish with remaining bacon and green onion. Serve immediately.

sunshinejuliussunshine:

Candy Apple Jell-O Shots
Candied apples...

sunshinejuliussunshine:

Candy Apple Jell-O Shots

Candied apples are another favorite Halloween time treat, and here we’ve created a Jell-O shot version. This apple gelatin is good by itself – tasty, tart, and with just a hint of effervescence from the cider. Top it off with some caramel ice cream topping and it’s perfect. Or, if you want to go the gross-out route, stick in some gummy maggots before it gels for a maggoty apple shot.

Basic Apple Cider Jell-O

1 envelope Knox unflavored gelatin

1/2 cup water

1 cup hard apple cider, divided in half

1/4 cup Apple Pucker or other sour apple schnapps

Combine the water with ½ cup cider in a saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin over it and let sit for a few minutes. Heat over low heat, stirring, until the gelatin starts to dissolve. Cool till just warm. Stir in the remaining cider and the apple schnapps. Pour into cups and chill. Top with caramel ice cream topping if desired.

2 pouches (7.5 oz each) Bisquick® Complete buttermilk biscuit mix

1 cup water

1 jar (14 oz) pizza sauce

1 package (8 oz) sliced pepperoni

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix and water until soft dough forms. Drop half of dough by spoonfuls evenly in bottom of baking dish (dough will not completely cover bottom of dish).

2. Drizzle about 1 cup pizza sauce over dough. Arrange 1/2 of the pepperoni slices evenly over sauce. Top with 1 cup of the cheese. Repeat layers with remaining dough, pizza sauce, pepperoni and cheese.

3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares to serve.

Prep Time: 10 mins Cooking Time: 30 to 40 mins

Ingredients:

4 eggs

4 egg whites

1/2 cup lowfat milk

1/2 cup shredded part skim mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

fresh pepper & sea salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blanch the broccoli in boiling water, dry and chop up into small pieces and set aside. Also set aside 2 to 3 tablespoons of cheddar cheese for sprinkling on top of quiche. Meanwhile, in a large bowl combine eggs and whites and lightly whisk together. Add milk and continue to whisk together. Stir in all remaining cheese and broccoli and finish off with salt and pepper to taste. Spray cups or ramekins with cooking spray and place on a baking sheet. Divide egg mixture evenly among cups, sprinkle with cheddar cheese and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until beginning to brown. An 8oz ramekin should yield 4 quiches. Note: Coffee cups are generally a bit bigger/deeper than 8oz. If you are using mugs and you want to get the quiches to pop out like the picture (above) it’s best to divide the recipe among 3 cups instead of 4.

Easy as hell potato soup

1 (30 oz.) bag frozen hash-brown potatoes

1 (8oz) package cream cheese (softened)

Garnish: minced green onion (I add cheese here as well, and I’d add bacon if I had it)

In a crock pot, combine potatoes, broth, soup, onion, and pepper.

Rock candy…. I totally want to make this in a billion different colors. BREAKING BAD STATUS

I haven’t done it personally but I found this online— seems simple enough!:

2 cups water

1 cup white corn syrup

3 1/2 cups sugar

1/4 tsp cream of tartar

Then I added:

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

3 drops of blue gel food coloring

I boiled the mixture and then continued stirring it on the heat until it reached 300 degrees F (used a candy thermometer to measure the temp). At that point, I poured it into a tray to cool. It hardened up in about an hour and then I smashed it to pieces.

This is a great and easy recipe, with two options:

1) Simmer it on the stove
2) Cook it in the Crock-Pot

Ingredients

2 pounds beef chuck or bottom round—cut into several pieces

1+1/3 Cups Salsa (Mild or Medium. I use Old El Paso)

12 oz. can Regular Coca-Cola —not Diet ( 1+1/2 cups)

Instructions

Spray large skillet with cooking spray, and quickly brown the beef well on all sides over high heat. Put beef and any drippings into a large pan. (I use a little of the Coca-cola to dissolve the drippings from the pan, and add) Pour Coca-cola and salsa over the beef , stir, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and let simmer for 2 hours. About 1/2 hour before done, shred the meat with a fork and continue simmering in sauce. Serve on buns.

Alternate method—after browning meat, combine all ingredients in Crock Pot and cook on Low for 7-8 hours, or on High for 4 hours.

This is also good cut up instead of shredded and served over rice or noodles.

*I’ve found that a less chunky style of salsa works best in this recipe.

Freedom in Insanity: laureanne-rose replied to your post: Any of you who are lusting after...

Freedom in Insanity: laureanne-rose replied to your post: Any of you who are lusting after...:
freedomnipples:

1 teaspoon salt

6 eggs, beaten

3 oz. (3/4 cup) shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 24 regular-size muffin cups with cooking spray.* In 3-quart saucepan, heat water and butter over high heat to a full rolling boil. Remove from heat.

1/2 cup oil

2 eggs

1 package of Andes Mints

Mix cake mix, oil, and eggs together. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-9 minutes. Don’t cook any longer than that! You don’t want them to be overdone!
Take sheet out of oven and while the cookies are still very hot, place an Andes Mint on top of each cookie. In about 5 minutes, the mint will be melted. Take a spoon and smooth out each mint like frosting.

Easy as hell self frosting nutella cupcakes!

1/4 cup butter, at room temperature

1/4 cup canola or mild vegetable oil

3/4 cup sugar

3 large eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1 3/4 cup all purpose flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4-1/2 cup Nutella, at room temperature

Preheat the oven to 325F.

In a medium bowl, beat the butter, oil and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth.

In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt; add to the butter mixture and beat on low speed just until combined. The batter will be thick. It needs to be in order to swirl in the Nutella!

Divide the batter between 12 paper-lined muffin cups. Drop a spoonful of Nutella on top of each, and swirl through the batter with the tip of a bamboo skewer, knife or other pointy object. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until springy to the touch. Tilt them in the pan to help them cool. Makes a dozen cupcakes.

Easy as hell Nutella cookies

3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 large)

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

8 ounces of beer (I used a classic amber)

32 ounces of barbecue sauce

Season chicken with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Add to crockpot, then add beer and 24 ounces of barbecue sauce. Cook on low for 8 hours, tossing once or twice if desired. After 8 hours, shred and add remaining barbecue sauce. Toss chicken to coat and let sit for 10-15 minutes before serving to absorb everything. Serve as desired.

7 Ways To Spike Your Hot Chocolate

7 Ways To Spike Your Hot Chocolate

Easy as hell chili macaroni

table salt

1/2 pound elbow macaroni (about 2 cups uncooked pasta)

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 1/2 pounds ground beef (85% lean)

2 medium onions, chopped

1 red bell pepper, stemmed, seeded and chopped

6 garlic cloves, minced

1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes

1 tablespoon light brown sugar

12 oz Colby Jack cheese, shredded (about 2 1/2 cups)

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Bring 4 quarts water to a boil in a large pot over high heat. Stir in 1 tablespoon salt and add dry macaroni; cook until al dente. Reserve 3/4 cup pasta water and drain pasta. Transfer to a large bowl and set aside.

Using the same large pot, wipe dry and heat over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon oil and heat until shimmering. Add ground beef and break it up in pieces to brown. Once browned, remove from pot and discard drippings. Set beef aside.

Add remaining oil to the same large pot and return to medium heat until shimmering. Add onions, garlic, red pepper, chili powder, and cumin; cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are softened and begin to brown.

Add the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, brown sugar, reserved 3/4 cup pasta water and beef to the pot. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until flavors have blended.

Stir in the cooked pasta, 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer mixture to a 9x13 baking dish and smooth over with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the mixture is hot and bubbling.

Remove from oven and sprinkle the top of the dish with the remaining shredded cheese. Return the dish once again in the oven and bake for 5-10 minutes until the cheese begins to melt and brown. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Easy as hell three cheese chicken alfredo bake
